2011 Synod Assembly
May 20-22, 2011
Galveston Convention Center
Our focus this year is on Intergenerational Ministry. This assembly may surprise you with research about the faith we have been passing on to our children and youth - and with our own survey findings. You will go home with practical, effective tools for your congregation and, more importantly, for your home.
Congregations are encouraged to bring as many visitors as possible. Please note: There is a special visitor rate of $50 for Saturday only (price includes lunch), so bring your congregational leaders to be trained and equipped through the Learning Labs and keynote presentations that take place that day.
A special youth component called "The Zone" will kick off our synod's new student leadership initiative for high school students.

Dear Friends,

Our synod is re-committing to ministry with children, youth and families - please join us! Here are some great opportunities to take advantage of. Please register soon for the best prices.
This is a wonderful opportunity to reach out and encourage people on the fringes to participate - especially families or youth who are new, visiting the congregation or showing leadership gifts. Please let me know personally if you have any questions.
Each experience is different so it would be great to have people from your congregation included. It is definitely not too late to extend the invitation.
I encourage you to fully participate in your congregation's worship opportunities during this holiest of all weeks. May God use our faith traditions to renew your heart.
Together in Christ,
Peggy
Peggy Hahn, Assistant to the Bishop
