Future With Hope

Response

Important Forms in a Disaster:

When a disaster strikes, it is helpful to have a core group in the congregation who has thought through a congregation's disaster response long before the disaster strikes.

Rapid Response Team (RRT) -- Congregations

Our Synod Rapid Response Team (RRT) is in place, ready to assist local congregations with their response. A model for a Rapid Response Team for your congregation is available for download by clicking here. The RRT is designed to have seven members; however, one person could handle several responsibilities.

BLOG - Communication in a Time of Disaster

Communication is essential in a time of disaster; yet it is often a time when the usual vehicles for communication are not working. People and resources become scattered, and needs and concerns are not able to be known or addressed.

To assist in communication in the event of a disaster, the synod has set up a BLOG where messages can be sent and viewed, displaced rostered leaders can inform the synod office of their location and needs, pastors can locate members and share messages for their congregation, and prayers can be requested and offered. Check it out HERE.

Important and Helpful Forms

To further assist with communication in a disaster, several forms are available online:

  • Emergency Contact Info - Displaced rostered leaders can use this form to inform the synod office of their status, location, contact information, and immediate needs (to be completed and submitted online).
  • Volunteer Form for Lay Persons - Those lay persons interested in volunteering in a time of disaster can complete this online form to communicate interest, skills and availability.

  • Volunteer Form for Rostered Persons - Pastors and rostered persons interested in helping in a time of disaster can complete this online form.
