Year of Transition ...The TELLing Synod - Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod
As we prepare for these changes in our synod, the Synod Council adopted a recommendation to focus our attention together over the next several months under the theme: A Year of Conversation in a Time of Transition.
The primary goal for this conversation is to ask ourselves “What is God leading and calling us to discern as our mission in the next six years?”
Each month all of our congregational councils (and other congregational groups) are asked to discuss a particular question relating to the ministry of the synod. Each question, as well as a summary of the responses, are available by clicking on the links in the table below. (If you have not sent your responses, please email them to transition@gulfcoastsynod.org.)
The goal of this process is to have a broad-based conversation across our entire synod about these matters – inviting God’s Spirit to guide us in discerning where we are, collectively, being called and led to serve in our mission for the next six years. The feedback will also be given to both the newly elected bishop and to the synod council to use in providing leadership for the synod in the first term of the new bishop. We hope this will provide a way for all members of our synod to invest directly into what the mission of our synod is about and how it might well unfold as we seek to serve our Lord together.
