Grace Lutheran Church, Conroe, TX
By highlighting all the good stuff that is going on at the different churches, even if they’re not the biggest or wealthiest, they’re doing this or that exceptionally well. It’s not about numbers. Numbers don’t make a church successful. If the church disappeared tomorrow would anyone miss us? We need to train leaders to approach things in a more positive way. Lutherans don’t talk money. But if you go into the Bible it’s all over the place. It’s there if we just talk about it. Other denoms are more open about finances. And they do better than we do. Utilize all of your resources. Give people the opportunity to use their talents. Don’t wring people dry. But give them the opportunity. Ask. Ask. Ask. Invite. Invite. Invite. Asset-based thinking
